Neither side was 'good', but your framing in this video implies that the 'CIA' and america were literally just going in to a perfectly content ally of the Soviets and destroying it, when the reality is that two super powers were both seeking to influence the country to their side, and both were using exactly the same methods to do so; subterfuge, economic incentive, assassinations, political pressure. Honestly the main difference is that the US usually didn't cross lines that the Soviets had no issues crossing whatsoever.

You know as truly despicable as it is with the government allowing this to happen and our leaders and soldiers committing all these atrocities my biggest disgust from all this is how the media has handled it. Corrupt and foul governments are sadly just something that every single country has to deal with but these media outlets whose jobs it is to shed light on these things and to make sure that our citizens aren’t ignorant, either wilfully or otherwise, are failing to do that. That’s my biggest issue. It shouldn’t take a group of UA-camrs to get the truth out there and to actually give a f*ck about these things. Please, watch slidan. He is a Ukrainian UA-camr who made a video "hard talk with russians" with english subs (and a lot of citations) to give people a better understanding of the situation than it being "US military games". There are many facts that are blown out of proportion in your video to fit your narrative and they completely misrepresent the culture and the history of the region. Your content is great and I really want it to reach a wider audience to bring people's attention to the important problems, and that's also why I don't want you portraying a false picture to spread your message. I don't believe you did that intentionally, but I think that you only researched the facts that would prove your point. Also, slidan's video has 3 bigger follow-up videos debating russian UA-camrs that make some of the claims that are similar to the ones you're making. Those are subbed and have citations as well.

To be fair, it's not *exactly* tracking through your outback. And if some fishy guys did try to beline in a var towards the base, there could be reasons to shoot. That was a pretty extreme simplification of what Afghanistan was in the 1970s and it’s pretty insane to think Al-queda could have been negotiated into being friendly with the western world or even Australia. No one understands and does Afghanistan justice. It’s over simplified. And that’s a big cause of how badly messed up Afghanistan got. We thought we could understand it. Wrong! Putting your own spin on the history to serve your agenda was unnecessary to telling David’s story. Shame.
